Does starting follower count actually affect organic growth for business accounts?

I am looking into how small business accounts develop from scratch. Some say that having a baseline of followers helps with visibility while others think it is just a vanity metric. Does anybody have experience with starting an account with a few hundred followers versus zero?

I looked into this recently and the results are quite mixed. The reality is that organic growth on Instagram feels almost impossible when the counter shows a flat zero because users tend to ignore empty profiles. From a purely logical perspective having a small base of followers might act as a basic filter for credibility. I checked out some options regarding the best way to buy 500 instagram followers just to see if it makes the page look less like a ghost town. It is a common tactic for small setups to avoid looking completely irrelevant in the first few weeks. This does not mean the content can be low quality but it might help the profile appear more established to a random visitor. It is just one way to handle the social proof issue without waiting months for the first few users to show up.

Always treat these growth methods with a healthy dose of skepticism and stay cautious with any third party tools.
