Heirloom jewelry redesign — giving old gold a second life

Hi everyone, I recently inherited a couple of solid gold rings and an old-fashioned brooch from my grandmother. While the sentimental value is huge, the style is just way too outdated for me to ever wear, and they are just sitting in my drawer. I really want to find a professional jeweler who can take these family heirlooms, melt down the gold, reuse the diamonds, and create a modern, minimalist pendant or a stylish tennis bracelet instead. Has anyone here done an heirloom jewelry redesign project? Any trustworthy US-based studios you could recommend for bespoke work?

Hi there! Redesigning heirloom jewelry is such a beautiful way to keep those memories close while actually enjoying the pieces. I did this with my mom's old wedding band. I wanted to turn it into a modern geometric pendant. After doing a lot of research on custom jewelers, I worked with the team over at  Olertis  and they were absolutely incredible. Their designers took my rough ideas and turned them into a stunning bespoke piece. They are super transparent about the materials, stone setting safety, and the craftsmanship is pure art. Check them out, they specialize in custom commissions like this.
